The Gears of War franchise captured the imagination of a lot of hardcore gamers out there, particularly because it depicted big burly men wielding large guns with chainsaw bayonets at the end and fighting “the good fight†against a race of underground monsters called the Locusts. But while the main group of characters, Delta Squad, depicted male stereotypes in the first two games, with one of them even trying to hint at a little bit of drama in the second, female gamers were largely left with almost no representative of their genre, except for communications officer Anya Stroud. But it seems that this might change in the next installment of the series, Gears of War 3, as the new Gears-themed comic hints at a new female COG soldier, named Alex, who seems to be right at home with fighting Locusts and taking down Brumaks, as seen in the pictures attached to the article.
