As usual, we've downloaded a copy of it in order to keep you up-to-date with the latest changes in the Ubuntu 9.10 development. Oh, and once again, we would like to say Happy 5th Birthday, Ubuntu! What's new in Ubuntu 9.10 RC? Well, this is the last development version of the upcoming Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) operating system and much of the new features that will be part of it were presented here on our website. Nothing really changed from the Beta release, except many bugfixes and lots of updated packages. But, there is a better login screen now, and some nice fade-in/fade-out animation to the boot splash. As a little reminder, HAL has been replaced by DeviceKit-power, DeviceKit-disks and udev, in order to provide a better power management, better handling of the hotkeys on laptops and better !

Yesterday it was up to Karanbir Singh to officially announce the immediate availability of CentOS 5.4. This new release comes in i386 and amd64 versions and, unexpectedly, Live disks are also available for these two architectures. Previously CentOS Live CDs were built exclusively for i386 processors and they were usually made available a week or two after the main version was released. Notably, the amd64 LiveCD weighs in at 757MB, larger than a standard CD, so it requires higher capacity optical disks. For CentOS 5.4 the upstream package repositories have been combined into a single one, making it easier for users to manage their software sources. External package repositories can be enabled during the installation, as this feature has been added to the distribution's installer. Also, starting with this CentOS version, fast-track rpm p!

Such is the case with PC vendor Fujitsu, which has just announced its series of portable PCs designed to take full advantage of the performance and features that have been enabled in the aforementioned OS. Part of the company's Lifebook line of portable PCs, the new Windows 7-enabled lineup includes two tablet PCs, one ultra-thin notebook, a desktop-replacement unit and a netbook.The lineup includes the tablet T4310 and T4410, both of which have been featured with a 12-inch display that boasts a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, while also making use of an LED backlit technology. The display comes with both a multi-touch and pen input, or even for a pen-only input touchscreen. Under the hood, the two laptops come featured with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, coupled with 2/4GB of RAM, the GMA 4500MHD integr!

Gaming magazine Famitsu is the first to come to a hands-on conclusion regarding Platinum Games's newest action title, Bayonetta. The official verdict is in and according to it it is perfect. The game was put in front a of a four-man jury where it was awarded a mark from one to ten. After a strict deliberation, it received the maximum score of 40. In the past eleven years, an only equal number of games have been considered worthy of a perfect mark from the magazine, but they're not evenly distributed to one every ear. In 1998 the award was claimed by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, in 1999 by Soulcalibur, and in the Y2K by Vagrant Story. The next two years were apparently bad ones for the gaming industry, and no title could be awarded the sought-after prize. The Legend of Zelda made a comeback into the top with The Wind Waker in 2003, while Nintendogs was the one that managed to score a perfect 40 in 2005. Final Fantasy XII did the same in 2006 and the year 2008 had !
