Fashion equals fabulousness but, these days, fashion has another edge to it: it also equals exclusive, not so much in the sense that it offers women the guarantee that they won’t be walking down the street and see someone else with the same frock as them, but rather in that certain sizes are completely left out. Plus size women are often overlooked by designers and even mainstream clothing outlets, so much so that they’re often forced to wait for sales or forego all aesthetic considerations just to be able to buy something new. Of course, that’s not to say that curvier women don’t want to be fabulous as well â€" just that, in most cases, they can’t. As we were also telling you a while back, this is about to change really soon, once Curvy Fashionista blogger Marie Denee opens her Marie Denee boutique, which she envisions as a haven for all plus-size women who refuse to let their curves define their style for them and go the other way around. NASA's new Moon probe, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), has recently beamed back amazing images showing the landing site of the harsh Apollo 14 mission, as well as the tracks the two crew members left behind in their failed journey to a peculiar crater nearby. The landing took place on February 5, 1971, and featured astronauts Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell in their Antares lander, Space reports. The new picture, which was released to the public on Wednesday, clearly shows that the astronauts made to about 100 feet (30 meters) of the peculiar Cone Crater, before having to come back to the lunar module. The Apollo 14 astronauts were charged with exploring the Fra Mauro highland, a rocky region with a lot of hills. Having already beamed back another image of this landing site, and of Tranquility Base â€" the site of the first Moon landing, by Apollo 11 astronauts â€" the LRO now used its main instrument, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC), to snap a more d!

HTTP:: How to Make a Black Hole in the Lab
--------
Black holes, once highly misunderstood formations, have over the years captured the imagination of astronomers and film producers alike, and have been prominently featured in films and in literature. In spite of the high levels of attention they were given, there are still a great many things that remain unknown about them, and therefore more studies are required. Rather than studying the real deal in space, experts from the Dartmouth College propose a new method of creating artificial ones in the lab, at much smaller scales than their supermassive counterparts. In a new scientific paper, published in the August 20th issue of the American Physical Society's flagship journal Physical Review Letters, the team explains the basics of constructing a quantum black hole at a very small scale. The new constructs could help them better understand Hawking radiation. First proposed by renowned physicist Stephen Hawking some 35 years ago, the theory states that black holes are not void!
of activity, and that they constantly generate special types of photons, now known as the Hawking radiation. Studying it in its natural environment has proven very difficult. “Hawking famously showed that black holes radiate energy according to a thermal spectrum. His calculations relied on assumptions about the physics of ultra-high energi...

--------
European researchers have recently developed a new type of control system that will in the near future allow driver-less cybercars to take over the streets. Fleets of high throughput rapid transit systems could become the most common means of transportation, all components working without flaw and in perfect cooperation with each other. Accidents caused by careless drivers could thus become a thing of the past. The secret is to allow the cars to “speak” to each other, the researchers say, quoted by ICT Results. Already, a large number of transport vehicles perform the job of getting people to their workplaces everyday flawlessly. But their autonomy is severely restricted, and humans still have to be kept in the loop. Experts from the European team that conducted the CyberCars2 project say that the key to creating the most efficient independent transport system is to allow for its components to communicate among themselves, so as to decide the best course of action in co!
mmon. This could translate into less or no traffic jams, as cybercars would be able to efficiently work their way around them, or prevent them from ever happening. Because the entire system will be in constant communication, its users would be safe from accidents caused by people who cannot read traffic signs, or who are too tired to d...

A newly-proposed idea in the United Kingdom holds that seniors in the country could, within three years, start enjoying the company of robotic kittens in their households. According to leading psychiatrists, always having some company around could benefit the elderly, and could make them become more involved in daily activities. The new cats could also be outfitted with sensors that can detect when their owner is sick, or with flashing lights, which could warn the elderly when someone is at the door. The proposition gets new meaning when considering statistical predictions of how the country's aging population will increase over the next decade. By 2020, it is estimated that the current number of seniors will increase by more than 50 percent, with even higher increases believed to take place afterwards. The new report was published on Thursday in the journal Royal Academy of Engineering. It also draws attention to the fact that it's not technological issues that prevent this !
type of companions from being made in large numbers. Some believe that it's laws and regulations that drag this field of research behind, in that most laws are still in the age of automation, and not it the current one, of autonomous systems. It's been a truly hectic week this one, as it was host to the GamesCon in Cologne, Germany, and has also seen the BlizzCon in Anaheim, California. Of course, a lot of announcements and rumors have arrived these days and here are the most important ones, in A Gamer's Week. Monday was pretty big for World of Warcraft fans, as supposedly new details about the upcoming Cataclysm expansion surfaced on various WoW-dedicated forums. Besides the new races and events, this update will completely revamp Azeroth. It was also the day when a special source told us that a new Medal of Honor game would appear in the summer of 2010, focused on modern events but set in a fictional timeline. Tuesday was host to two big statements from Microsoft and Bethesda regarding their most precious franchises. The first was in regard to the Halo movie and how Microsoft said !
that it was currently 'on hold' and nobody was handling it as of yet. Bethesda's Pete Hines then talked about how his studio was working on a new The Elder Scrolls title and that when he and his team had something to show, it would be revealed to the public. Most women who undergo plastic surgery do so because they believe there’s something about their body or face that could use improvement. Then, there are others who do it because they want to look entirely different, like the case of Nileen Namita, a 49-year-old woman from Brighton. Namita underwent 51 interventions on her face alone and has spent an estimated £200,000 to look like “a living sculpture” of Nefertiti, the Daily Mail informs. The mother of three deems her face a “work in progress,” saying she does not plan to stop here with the plastic surgery. Her “journey,” she reveals, began many years ago, when she started having very vivid dreams that always left her confused. The Burgess Shale Formation is one of the most well-preserved archaeological sites in the world. It features a wealth of fossils, from a world that disappeared some 500 million years ago, when the area of the Canadian Rocky Mountains where it's located was a seabed teeming with life. Despite thousands of millennia of seismic activity, volcanism and tectonic-plate movement, the fossil layer has been so well preserved, that most of its fossils still have their soft tissues, such as skin and even eye balls, intact. This month marks the Burgess Shale's 100th anniversary since it was discovered by Smithsonian Institution paleontologist Charles Walcott in late August, 1909. The site is located close to the city of Field, in British Columbia, LiveScience reports. It is one of the extremely few places thus far discovered on the entire planet that still preserve the complete fossils of animals that died there in the past, and not just traces of hard shells, bones and teeth. The r!
