Activision's Call of Duty franchise is one of the biggest and most profitable video game series in the world. Already up to five full-fledged installments, the series is gearing up to receive the biggest one yet, in the form of the direct sequel to the award-winning Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. But even though all of the media buzz is around Modern Warfare 2, it seems that Activision hasn't forgotten how popular the Nintendo Wii is and how it didn't manage to bring the first Modern Warfare onto the platform. As such, it has just announced that its Treyarch studio, which handled development of Call of Duty 3 and the more recent Call of Duty: World at War, will be porting the award-winning Modern Warfare onto the Nintendo Wii platform, and will release it at the same time as Modern Warfare 2, on November 10. The original Modern Warfare appeared only on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but managed to reach over 14 million units sold across the world, and is still one !
of the most played games online, even though recently a lot of cheaters and hackers invaded the multiplayer mode. Treyarch already has experience working on the Wii as the studio did bring its World at War iteration onto the Nintendo platform, where it managed to move quite a lot of units, surpassing one ...
