Square Enix is the king of the Japanese role playing games and its biggest franchise worldwide is Final Fantasy, even if Dragon Quest seems to be the series dominating the Land of the Rising Sun. And now, the company has estimated that it will sell more than 6 million copies of the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII, which is set to be released on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, as usual, but also on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft.A Reuters financial report GameSpot has translated shows that the Japanese publisher will bring in 277 million dollars in revenue, mainly on the strength of Final Fantasy. Sony and Naughty Dog have announced that the planned integration of the popular communication service Twitter into their upcoming Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has been dialed down a lot. Initially, the plan was for the game to log into the Twitter account of the gamer playing it in order to send out messages when each chapter and sub-chapter was completed. There were some reports that this caused multiple updates to be released in an hour and that some Twitter users considered it to represent spam.This has spurred Sony to limit functionality. A post on the official PlayStation blog reads “We obviously want to provide the best experience for everybody, so for the time being we’ve disabled Twitter updates on chapter completions. The option will still exist in the menus when the game ships on 10/13, but if activated, it will do nothing. The paper reveals that, oftentimes, the adults come up with all sorts of methods to instill certain behaviors in their children, and invent things from mythical animals to peculiar consequences for certain actions. “We are surprised by how often parenting by lying takes place. Our findings showed that even the parents who most strongly promoted the importance of honesty with their children engaged in parenting by lying,†Kang Lee, who has been a researcher on the new study, says.
