Transmission is open source, while most of the code is licensed under the GNU General Public License, with select code licensed under the liberal MIT License. The program boasts a simple, intuitive interface designed to integrate tightly with any OS. Supported by developer Eric Petit, Transmission runs natively on Mac OS X, seamlessly configuring your network, banning peers who send corrupted data intelligently, using protocol encryption and built-in Peer Exchange. It also allows you to efficiently ration commodity, only slowing down your system when you actually focus on it. The latest version of the software doesn’t wait so long on unresponsive trackers, if there are other trackers to try, and doesn’t crash upon being fed corrupt/invalid torrents. Faster verification of local data for torrents with a small piece size has been confirmed by Petit, as well as the abil!
