The Google Chrome development team has updated the Dev Channel with new fixes for the WebKit-based web browser setting new standards in speed and functionality across all major operating systems available today. Google Chrome 4.0.220.1 is available for Mac OS X users as a free download right here, on Softpedia. The changelog for Chrome 4.0.220.1 reveals that all platforms suffered from a couple of issues that have been addressed as follows: remove "Remove Item" from download item context menu; Omnibox now understands Zeroconf .local hosts. A single, Windows-only fix is available with this release. According to the Chrome developers, the Native Client is now built into the renderer, but it's disabled by default. The release notes include additional information on this bug and how the development team has addressed the issue. A total of seven Mac OS X-specific bugs have been addressed as well.
