Development studio Gearbox has been at the center of the news lately for two main reasons, the impending release of its cross between a shooter and a role playing game called Borderlands, which will be quite risky, coming in the face of the behemoth that is Modern Warfare 2, and the fact that Microsoft has firmly denied that the outfit had any involvement in an upcoming Halo franchise title. Now, Gearbox is again making the news as it is talking about creating a videogame based on The Heat, the iconic De Niro and Pacino movie.The studio talked about a The Heat videogame back at E3 2006 and not much has been heard of it since then even though the project was surely an exciting one. Fortunately, Randy Pitchford, the outspoken leader of Gearbox, recently gave an interview to Gamespot about the project.He initially referred to The Heat by saying that “In a nutshell, we're nowhere. We have passionate game makers that would love to do it. We've got filmmakers that think it's a !
great idea that would love to see it done. We have publishing partners that would love to publish it. But we have no time.
