Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim was launched not even three weeks ago and has already received a first patch. Paradox Interactive has announced the update today and said that it will be focused on modifying and improving the gaming experience. The game will now feature an automatic updater that will enable players to have direct and instant access to any new patches and game updates. A “same mode” has also been added to solve some of the graphical compatibility issues and allow for better performance through optimizing the settings. The really big modifications the patch brings are to the gameplay. These aim to improve and balance the overall experience by working on the spells for specific units. The chat lobby has been tweaked as well to allow for smoother communications. A patch that brings direct modifications to the gameplay is usually a sign that the game wasn't properly thought through. But when it's released so close to the launch date it's more of an indi!
cation that it didn't receive a proper beta test. Whether the game was rushed to meet the release date and the Quality Assurance department wasn't given enough time to thoroughly test it, or they just did a bad job, the problem lies here.
