On Friday, October 16, 2009, Apple seeded its vast developer community with a new build of Mac OS X 10.6.2, the forthcoming incremental update to Snow Leopard, the company’s newest Mac OS. Labeled Mac OS X 10.6.2 Build 10C527f, the seed is said to contain only one known issue, as well as two sets of release notes, “an indicative sign of a possible release candidate,” World of Apple notes. As usual, the site was able to provide the seed notes for the 483.5MB build. At first glance, the update seems to provide reliability improvements limited to areas like iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, iDisk, and Safari plug-ins. However, the update also fixes a glitch that could delete user data, an issue reported by numerous Snow Leopard users merely days after its public debut, and recently acknowledged by the Mac maker.
