HTTP:: Flickr App Launches on iPhone iPod touch
--------
Originally created by former game designers Stewart Butterfield and Caterina Fake, Flickr is the world’s most popular online photo-sharing network. The service is now available to any owner of an iPhone or iPod touch through a free application that has just been granted a place in the App Store’s photography section. Flickr began as a photo-sharing feature of the duo’s gaming project. Since 2004, it has become one of the premiere photo-sharing sites on the web, with Yahoo! purchasing Flickr for $35 million in March of 2005. Flickr competes with photo-sharing giant Photobucket. On the iTunes App Store, Flickr’s description consists of the app’s key features, which include the ability to share your photos â€" “Watch the world. Flickr for the iPhone enables photo-sharing on the go â€" from your phone, to the world;” shoot â€" “upload and share photos & videos: Geo-tag your photos or add them to a set. View your photos by set and tag;” stay up-to-date â€!
" “see recent photo activities from your friends and family, search and view photos by contact, make comments or mark them as favorites;” explore the world â€" “search photos & videos from the Flickr community all over the world â€" by subject, people, or places.”...
