South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung reportedly released its first and only Android-powered mobile phone, the Samsung i7500 Galaxy, onto the Taiwanese market on Monday. The smartphone is available for purchase via wireless carrier Taiwan Mobile and should face great competition from the mobile phones the local handset maker HTC Corporation has released under the Google Android operating system. The newly launched Samsung Galaxy was announced a few months ago and is reported to be capable of overtaking the first two Android handsets in the world, the HTC Dream and Magic. The device comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, coupled with a 5-megapixel photo snapper, and also sports a wide range of features, among which we can count an internal memory of 8GB. Interestingly enough, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy should prove a great competitor against HTC's Hero, which will be released in Taiwan on Tuesday.
