Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is clamping down on criticism by closing radio stations and by pushing a proposed law to punish "media crimes," according to a U.S. intelligence report. Venezuela's government says the measures are lawful and accuses opponents of spreading "disinformation" about its motives.
