Afghan opium is bankrolling the Taliban and fueling terrorism and insurgencies in Central Asia, the head of the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime warns in a new report on the heroin trade. About 15 million people around the world use heroin, opium or morphine, fueling a $65 billion market, according to the study.
