SkyMall has announced an application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Bearing the company’s name, the SkyMall app is available as a free download via Apple’s iTunes App Store. Featuring the complete SkyMall catalog, the application allows users to browse their way around even without a network connection, according to the in-flight catalog company. A built-in gift finder is also to be had with SkyMall’s free app, as is a powerful search engine with browsing capabilities. Users can also play games right within the app, or enter catalog numbers from the paper catalog in order to view and order items online. Developed by Cleveland-based technology company iNomadics, the SkyMall app was achieved by leveraging an existing mobile commerce platform provider (CardinalCommerce), the official report says. “We are very pleased to provide this free iPhone app to our customers.
