Motorola, Inc. announced on Monday that its Home & Networks Mobility business had been selected by Craig Wireless Systems Limited for the deployment of a new 802.16e WiMAX network in Vancouver, British Columbia. According to Motorola, the network for Vancouver will represent the first deployment of the company's mobile WiMAX technology in Canada. The agreement that Motorola signed states that it should deliver end-to-end WiMAX solutions, such as base stations, wireless access controllers and an operation and maintenance center (OMC). In addition, the company will also deliver support services for the design of the network, as well as for planning, installation and optimization of the network, set to work on the 2.5GHz spectrum band.“The Motorola solution will enable us to hit the ground running in our Vancouver market and seize immediate opportunities to serve our customers with new mobile services and applications,” said Rod Vandenbos, president of Craig Wireless S!
