HTC Touch Pro2 is one of the nicest mobile phones that came to the market this year from the Taiwan based handset maker HTC Corporation with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system on board. Available on the United States market via Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, the handset is also expected to soon become available for end-users via AT&T, only that it will sport the new WM 6.5 platform. However, the price tag the handset features with the US carriers differs from one to another, and Verizon Wireless is the one that has it for the lowest price, $199.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement. Unfortunately, the HTC Touch Pro2 was out of stock at Verizon until recently, most probably because of the low price tag it comes with (Sprint and T-Mobile have it well above $200). Although the HTC Touch Pro2 is back at Verizon, and Windows Mobile 6.5 has already been launched on the market, it seems that the older 6.1 version of the OS is still present with the!
handset. We hoped that Big Red would pre-load it with 6.5, or that HTC would send it over with the new platform on board already, yet it seems that we'll have to wait a little before the handset becomes a WM 6.5-based Windows phone.
