DivX Inc. has released an update to its high-quality video platform, DivX. DivX Player 7.1 has been updated to support unlimited playback of purchased DivX VOD content in DivX Player, as well as streamlined DivX VOD registration and device management. DivX for Mac 7.1 is now officially supported on Intel machines only, according to its makers. In keeping with to the release notes, DivX 7.1 also includes DivX Codec 6.8.3, which, for its part, adds up to 50% faster decoding on multi-core computers for better HD Playback, and new, custom matrices that allow for a better fine-tuning of the encoder for the specific content type. DivX Converter 1.3.1 has been updated to work on Leopard (and to work in general).
