Sunnyvale-based Palm is reportedly gearing up to come to the market with a new iteration of its webOS, namely with the 1.1 version, which should prove to be a rather major improvement over the already existing variant, webOS 1.04. According to the rumors, the upcoming software flavor is not that far in the future, and it should drop as soon as July 22, though nothing is certain at the moment. As previously reported, the upcoming software variant is expected to include a variety of security improvements, mainly aimed at turning the device into a better solution for business users. The Exchange Active Sync capabilities of the device should see some improvements, while other presumed changes should also include an IT-initiated remote wipe, as well as enhanced complexity in the PIN/password area, which would also sport an automatic wipe of the device in case a certain number of failed PIN attempts has been reached.
