Hamrick Software has released a new version of its flagship OS X app, VueScan. The piece of software assists Mac users in producing quality scans, allowing tweaks to color balance, and more. Version 8.5.27 for Mac improves the auto strip film alignment with Nikon film scanners and fixes a Snow Leopard bug, among changes. According to the release notes, VueScan 8.5.27 fixes a problem with HP scanners on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), as well as a problem with HP DeskJet F735. In addition to the improved auto strip film alignment with Nikon film scanners mentioned above, VueScan 8.5.27 improves German language support. “VueScan 0.1 was first released in 1998 with support for a single scanner on Windows only.
