HTTP:: MetroPCS Selects Vendors for 2010 LTE Launch

Unlimited, contract-less wireless communications service provider MetroPCS announced on Tuesday that it had selected the infrastructure and handset vendors for the launch of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) Broadband services, slated for the second half of 2010. According to the company, Ericsson will be the infrastructure provider for its LTE network, while Samsung Mobile will be in charge with delivering the first LTE handset for the carrier. As many of you might already know, MetroPCS has been encouraging users to choose wireless mobility over landline services, and it is offering them unlimited, flat-rate, no-signed-contract plans. According to the company, the deployment of LTE should enable it to deliver enhanced Internet services to its users, so that they can experience a richer HTML browsing experience without having to stay connected to a wired network. âœEricsson is honored to be chosen by MetroPCS as their LTE/EPC infrastructure supplier for its LTE service!
