Two new mobile phones are reported to have passed through the FCC courtyard, both of them coming from the Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia, namely the Nokia E72 and the Nokia E55. For what it's worth, it appears that Nokia is determined to push even more handsets on the US market, so as to regain some of the market share it has lost during the last quarters. The first of the new phones, the Nokia E72, comes to the market with full HSPA on the 850 and 1900MHz frequencies, as well as with quad-band EDGE and HSPA 2100. The tri-band 3G (850/1900/2100MHz) support suggests that the device is AT&T-bound, so it might not be too long before it comes to the carrier's lineup. The Nokia E55, also caught wandering through FCC's hallways, is an S60 smartphone, featuring a form factor only 9.9mm thick, and easily proving itself as a compact QWERTY phone heading at full speed stateside. For the time being, there are no details on when the handset will become available for purchase !
in the country, nor whether a carrier will have it or not. As for the price, what is known is that the European variant goes for €265 (about $371 USD). Both devices seem to be rather attractive and should see a lot of traction on the market, so it shouldn't be long before they become available. For those that might not know alread...
