HTTP:: Half of US Doctors Turn to Wikipedia for Help
--------
Over the years, as more and more homes started getting access to computers and the Internet, a shift was recorded in the classical sources people turned to in order to get their medical information. Rather than visiting the doctor's office, many people now prefer browsing for a response to their questions online, where they rely on their anonymity to avoid embarrassing situations, if that's the case. But the problem is that, lately, even doctors have begun to turn to the Internet for help, and not always to dedicated and established medical websites. According to a June study by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, it would appear that more than 61 percent of American citizens use the Internet for retrieving information about their conditions, and possible cures. Significant parts of the population also shop online for drugs, from untrusted sources, which can prove to be very detrimental to their health in the end. “My overall impression is that the quality of h!
ealth information varies wildly, almost ridiculously wildly. If [a site] is treated as an authoritative source, and there's evidence that it isn't, then it's potentially dangerous,” Nova Southeastern University Pharmacologist Kevin Clauson says, quoted by NewScientist. Wikipedia is often the most visited source fo...

French publisher Ubisoft has quite a lot of high-quality franchises in its portfolio, but one that hasn't been on the radar of many fans is its Splinter Cell stealth series. After receiving a lot of iterations, the franchise has seemingly gone undercover, as the Splinter Cell Conviction title was announced but no further details were released. The game was set to appear a few years ago, but then Ubisoft came forward with a statement and revealed that it would be delayed, as the team considered that they needed to revamp it from the ground up. After quite some time, at this year's E3 conference, the game was formally unveiled and received a fall release date. Yesterday though, the French company made the announcement that four of its biggest titles slated to hit this holiday season would be delayed and pushed back into 2010. Sadly, among them was Splinter Cell Conviction. This piece of news made a lot of fans quite sad and worried about whether or not the title would rece!
ive yet another revamp and remain in hiatus for at least a year. Not so, according to a Ubisoft community manager, who posted on the game's forum under the name UbiRazz. “Splinter Cell Conviction is a very important game for us. We want to ensure it's a game that long-term fans and gamers new...

One of the biggest videogames slated to be released in 2009 is Starcraft II, the Blizzard-developed sequel to what might just be the most important real time strategy title of all time. But with the company announcing a beta for the game for the fall and with various spokespersons saying that six months might pass from the beginning of the testing phase until the official release, more and more people are thinking that Starcraft II will not be coming out in 2009, which promptly led to the stock value of Activision Blizzard dropping by no less than 14% in about one month. One analyst, Jess Lubert from Brean Murray, told Marketwatch that “The beta testing for StarCraft hasn't started yet. If it starts in August and takes 5-6 months, then launching the game this year is next to impossible.” This basically means that the revenue the mammoth release would bring will not be arriving during this fiscal year, mainly because Starcraft II will not be outed during the usually dead m!
onths at the beginning of 2010.Blizzard has always said that Starcraft II will only be launched once the development team is completely satisfied with the state of the final product but gamers will nonetheless be disappointed to see that their long awaited game is pushed back to the next year. HTTP:: Madonna s Muscular Arms Are the New Symbol of Female Power
--------
Madonna is a gym freak, that much is known. Even if her own personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, hasn’t said so herself in numerous interviews, the amazing condition in which she is, and that allows her to dress more skimpily than a 25-year-old, speaks volumes. In this sense Madonna’s arms are probably the loudest, drawing many comparisons to the way professional athletes look like, with no body fat whatsoever. Moreover, Liz Jones says for the Daily Mail, these muscular arms are now the hottest accessory for any woman past 50, if social acceptance is what she wants. Today’s woman must have a happy family life and, at the same time, a successful career. As if this wasn’t enough to keep her busy almost 24/7, the modern woman must also be extremely active, and not just the everyday-jogging type of active. Consequently, to show that, she must have sinewy arms that she is to put on display just like Madonna does, because the ultimate symbol of female empowerment today are!
the muscular arms, Jones believes. “They are the ultimate high maintenance, must-have accessory, as ubiquitous for women of a certain age and income as a Birkin handbag. Toned arms, like Michelle Obama’s, are shown off as proudly as the interlocking Gucci Gs. Aerobicized arms are better than an...

HTTP:: Resident Evil Series Doesn 039 t Have a Clear Future Ahead Says Developer
--------
The San Diego Comic-Con was in full swing last week, culminating with the weekend period when many video game-themed panels were held by major companies about franchises that enjoyed a cult-like following. One such example is the Resident Evil panel, which was held by Capcom and which enjoyed the presence of Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi. He took the stage and began to answer many of the fans' questions. One of them though made the developer a bit nervous. He was asked by a gamer about the possibilities of RE6 to be a complete series reboot for the horror survival franchise and if Takeuchi's team was already working on it. The Capcom producer was a bit vague in his answer, as he revealed that nobody had been chosen to produce the next Resident Evil game, and that he and fellow franchise veteran Masachika Kawata were playing blackjack in order to see who would end up at the helm of the project. But don't believe that they are gambling for a specific purpose, as Tak!
euchi then said, “it doesn't appear as though either of us is going to be in charge” of the next Resident Evil game. Resident Evil 5 was launched with bells and whistles by Capcom, and even though it sold over 5 million copies all around the world on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the...

--------
Christophe Balestra, who is the co-president of developer Naughty Dog, has announced that its upcoming title, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, will not require the player to install it to the hard drive of the PlayStation 3. The new was delivered, in Web 2.0 fashion, via Twitter, as Balestra stated, quite clearly, that “Uncharted 2 does not require any install.”The statement from the official appeared because a typo on the box art of the game was widely cited as definite proof that Uncharted 2 would needing about 1.7 gigabytes of space before it can be played. It seems that this error will be corrected so that potential buyers are not put off by the space needed or by the potential long time the install might take. The PlayStation 3 is widely panned by critics for the long time that it needs to perform the install sequence for some titles.Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is another exclusive that Sony has in its lineup for the PlayStation 3 this year, hoping to attract more gamers !
to the device that is third in a sales chart for current gen gaming consoles, behind the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft. The game will again tell the adventures of Nathan Drake, delivered in even better graphics than those of the original title in the series. HTTP:: Photographing Your Food Helps You Lose Weight
--------
No matter how hard we try to keep tabs on our food or, more often, on the daily calorie intake, it is being claimed that we are hardly aware of what we eat. Because of this, even when we’re dieting, we tend to overindulge and not even realize it, and then we wonder what has gone wrong that we’re not losing weight. A solution for this would be to photograph everything we eat throughout the day for a few weeks, as Brigid Moss of Red Magazine did. According to Moss, even when we’re looking at food, we’re not really paying attention to it. This is one of the main reasons why we’re not losing weight â€" quite on the contrary â€" since we’re too busy stuffing our face instead of enjoying our food. To test out a new theory, Moss took to taking pictures of everything she ate for an entire month and thus became aware of her actual diet. In doing so, she also lost three pounds, learned to look at food differently and, at the same time, appreciate it more. “You would!
think I’d know exactly what I eat each day â€" after all, it’s me who picks up my food and puts it into my mouth. And as the health director of Red, a women’s magazine, being careful about eating well is my job. But four months ago, it struck me that I never really looked at my f...
